'77 Starter

My 77 will not turn over when she's hot and most folks I talk to say it's the starter. So, this weekend I'm going to dive in a do it.

Looks like a pretty straight forward job. Anything I should be aware of that I'm NOT aware of now?

The first thing I'd do is make sure the battery is good. It's not fun buying and replacing a part only to later find out something else is at fault.

what temperature thermostat do you have? Did you check all battery cable connections including the ground under the battery box?

You probably know this, but before you dive into the starter disconnect the positive battery cable.

you are to late for the cheap fixes for heat soak, but they may work, heat shield , remote starter solenoid, etc. If you install a new or rebuilt starter and at the same time do the cheap heat soak fixes , it will last longer. hope this helps
