Default '74 front plate location

This is question steered toward anyone that has tried this or is a cop who has a valid answer. I purchased a repro center grille for my '74. I wanted to clean up the front end and to advantage of installing a grill. I live in Connecticut where two plates are the rule. So I started to fabricate a aluminum plate holder slightly below the valance. It just did not look right. So I brainstormed a lesser agressive way. I bolted the plate to the steel reinforcement beam. This put the plate right behind the grill where the plate in plain sight straight on, but 2 1/2'' in the body. So the $100,000 question to anyone of knowledge not opinion is it going to be a issue? Oh by the way the plate says STINGRAY and the dmv gave it easy so I was lucky. I know people who drive for years w/o a front plate and never get pinched and I know someone that got ticketed at DWI check point. I want the best of both worlds.

Order/find a 73-74 front plate bracket. They came with all cars being shipped to states where the front plate was required. They shipped with the car and the receiving dealer made the installation.

Got one w/ the car. I just wanted the center grille because it was more rare around here and it cleaned up the nose.

If the view of the palte is obstructed- as noted- you're probably eligible for a citation. An understanding cop might let you slide once with a warning-- depends on whether you live in a big city or small town.

I'm in just the reverse situation - - car came with a plate holder that I sandblasted and powdercoated - - but AZ only requires a rear plate (although they send you two when you buy them). Go figure.

What sort of real world cabin heat soak reduction are people seeing with these? Is it worth doing in a moderate climate? I'm in the PNW.
