Clutch ball stud - which one?

I am replacing my clutch and the ball stud in the bell housing is worn so I bought a new one. The new one is longer then the old one. Normally I would have thought that I bought the wrong part but I also noticed that Bubba has welded on an extension to the clutch adjustment rod. I am now wondering if the longer rod is needed as the ball stud was to short? Which one is correct? It is a 70 small block

stock appears to be 1 1/2"

Thanks, the new longer one is 1.5". I bought it from Paragon and they say it should be right but to match it up to what you have. The issue is that I think what I have may be wrong. I have done a google search and looked in a dozen books I have but can find nothing definitive.

Suspect that should you use the longer ball stud you'll no longer require the bubba'd rod extension.
