stuck brake bolts

stuck brake bolts
I'm in the process of swapping on a set os SSBC calipers and hoses, the fronts went on no problem in under an hour, but the mounting bolts on the rear calipers just won't move :mad . Any advice?

Heat! I had to use a propane torch on mine to get them to budge. Heated the bolt head for a couple minutes and it broke free easily. :yesnod:

The PB Blaster is marvelous stuff, far better than WD-40. I think I'd give it some time to work before I'd get the long pipe--I'd be terrified I'd sheer the bolt off and really be screwed! Heat's an excellent suggestion, though be aware that brake fluid will burn!

Ryan,
I had one bolt on my rears that would not let go no matter what I did. Ended up spliting the caliaper and then drilling the bolt. Made a hole down the center, then the bolt let go.

Had both rear sides like yours. I soaked the bolts with PB overnight and used an impact wrench with a quality 6 point air impact socket and they broke free after a couple of hammers. Regardless of method, soak them. I for one am very leary of the blue flame wrench around the gas tank.
