Newer zz4 and over this winter I would like to see what everyne suggests as far as parts . I would prefer as much tq as possible HP numbers not quite as important as I am a daily driver who likes to hit it on on ramps , light to light and really enjoy the feeling of a motor with a good amount of tq. I do realize I may not have much to gain with a 350 zz4 .. But anyone with ideas please have at it .
I can get a brand new set of fast burns complete for about 750.00 should I as a start ?
If you can find it, the February 2009 "Hot Rod" Magazine has an excellent article about upgrading a ZZ4. They increased HP by 114.
Trick Flow heads & cam, Holley 750 dbl pumper & other stuff.
I would prefer AFR heads though.
Pace Pac GM ZZ4 Comp Cams Power Packages
Pace Performance, COMP Cams® and RHS™ join forces to eliminate the "performance dysfunction" that plagues GM ZZ4 crate engine owners.
GM's ZZ4 engine has great performance potential straight out of the crate; but in today's realm of high performance engines, 355hp is not exactly something you brag to your buddies about. COMP Cams® is dedicated to producing top quality components that draw the most power and torque from any engine platform. As a result of this effort, COMP has designed bolt-on GM ZZ4 power packages that dramatically improve the horsepower, torque and “fun factor” associated with this engine.
Test results prove that carefully selected combinations of COMP Performance Group™ products can transform your stock ZZ4 into a small block powerhouse with bullet proof reliability. Each COMP Cams® Performance Package has been dyno tested in-house to demonstrate real world, repeatable results.
*All tests were performed on a brand new GM ZZ4 engine which achieved baseline performance of 344 HP @ 5300 rpm and 390 lb./ft. @ 4300 rpm - both figures slightly less than the factory ratings. Comp Cams dyno tests utilized a Demon 650 cfm carburetor, 1 3/4-inch primary tube headers and the factory dual plane intake manifold (performance dual plane intake utilized for Stages 2-5 to supply adequate airflow).

Most all "up grades" are going to move the Torque RPM Higher. In your descipsion of Your Driveing habits of Stop Light and On Ramps this will probably make things worse not better. Assumeing that Your Car has a Turbo 350 Trans I would think that there would be more gain to be had going to a 4 speed Auto Trans. More Torque at Low Speeds and lower RPMs at Higher Speeds will keep the Motor You allready have in its power band.

I am on that page 100% This week I am having the 700R4 installed , I also ordered the ZZ430 top end to be installed this winter all fed to a rear 3.55 ... So I think after all that I may end up with a lot of performance and a very streetable car .
I run a CC 218-224HR w/1.6 rrs in 350. AG and 650 Demon.
The engine is a little soft off the line w/3:55 and M21 trans.
A lower first gear is coming some day w/5 sp.
After 2200 it really starts to pull in the mid range.
Like most cams of that duration, it runs out of air @ 5200+.
Mine pulls so hard I shift @ 3K usually and 4K when I want
a little excitement.
A short cam and 1.6rr will make for a nice street ride.
