Next check are spark plugs. I went with accell shorty style plugs, only to realize they were the wrong ones, too short to get into my cylinder heads. After the spark plugs, the next check area is fuel pump/filter. Your problem is either timing, or fuel delivery, IMO.
firing order is fine,I have checked every thing I can think of. it starts fine just has an intermittent miss at idle and up, tends to run hot even with a 160 thermostat radiator is fine plenty of flow starting to think the motor got put together one tooth off on the timing chain only thing that makes sense, really gutless secondary's open really slow,or carb with a vac leak I cant find, this one has me going in circles. only back fires lightly one time thru carb when I romp on it let off and do it again? brand new plug wires good ones. plan on replacing Q-jet with new carb suggestions?
One plug was wrong one, replaced it no help. will check fuel pressure tomorrow.
