Need help with starter/ battery problem
If I dont start my 79 at least every 5-6 days I have to jump it. Earlier this year while the car was stored, I couldn't start it at all, that time the battery wasn't down, so I jumped the solenoid to spin the starter and its been starting OK since. I checked the Delco Battery, its putting out 12.5 volts. Do you think the solenoid is messed and always drawing power to cause the battery to run down? Should I replace the starter? Also, why is a starter from NAPA $36.00 with exchange, and A rebuilt starter from MAD $119? Is it a better unit? Thanks, Squeaky
