Body bolts

Tackling a 1982 body off restomod, really having trouble with the body bolts. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Bust out the air grinder and grind the heads off all of the stubborn/rusted/rotted bolts. Then you should be able to lift the body...

Don't forget the (1) body mount bolt that attaches the center front of the car to the bumper brace (on 1980-1982) cars.

Soak the bolts with Kroil or PB Blaster over several days to try to break the rust. On my car the #3 passenger side nut/bolt froze up and spun in the cage welded to the frame.

Not much room to work, and I ended up wrapping a hacksaw blade with duct tape in order to get clearance to sever the bolt. (Zen or the old B&W prison movies should get you in the correct frame of mind!)

Use a Sawsall. I used these blades and they worked awesome! I actually shortened one of the blades so I could get in and cut the trailing arm bolts, which made that job much easier!
