Restoring Trim: Help Needed
I looked over some of the trim on my 1979 Corvette and it looks to be in great physical shape but it looks to be a bit weathered. I want to re-paint some the parts (ex: front lower spoiler) but I'm not too sure what kind of paint would be best for the job.
Thanks in advance,
Aaron
Metal parts are going to use different paint than the front spoiler will.
All the window trim and bumperettes were a low gloss black.
Autozone sells a "trim black" in a rattle can that looks and works great.
Just remove the trim, sand or strip the old paint, and shoot the new paint. I also used an etching primer on the metal before laying down the black.
Interior trim should be cleaned and recoated with a spray dye to match your needed color. Don't use spray paint on interior trim.

Interior dye.....
Duplicolor makes this:

Or you can go to any auto paint store and have custom colors mixed up to match your OEM color and they can even put it in a spray can for you.
..Or you can contact one of the many sponsors for this forum and they can sell you pre-mixed spray dye for your interior.
