Looking at my time slips now.
Mike, do you recall how early in the racing that was? If it was around 11:00 eastern time, 10:00 central time I have it narrowed down. it was one of these 2 runs:
One was my best (time on the slip is 10:01)
13.746@102.28 RT:0.651
The C5 ran:
13.905@102.5 RT:0.963
I won:)
The other one it could have been was: (time on the slip is 9:29)
14.007@100.9 :( RT:0.781
The C5 ran:
14.170@104.9 RT:0.884
I won:)

Re: {{VIDEO}} ddecart taking on a C5 at the Cruise in! (ddecart)
I was pretty early... I think I only had a couple of passes in at that time so it was most likely around 10 am - that was when I was letting my car cool down before we reset the timing... before the burnout contest , remember???

Ok, was that probably my last run before I pulled in and we reset the timing on your car? If so it was the 10:01 run. My best of the day

Nice Video  more more more ....
From what I have seen, the C5s usually run in the 12.8 to 13.2 range. When they lose traction they produce a rather high-pitched squeel. It sounds like he was having traction problems as well. What were the 60' and 1/8 times on that run?
The C5's are nice and fast right out of the box but IMHO the C3 style is more appealing. Besides, just like some others here, I could have had a new C5 for the money I have in my '72.
ZZ4, Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI, Edelbrock 6085 heads, GM H.O.T. cam, GM 1.6 rockers, Hedman headers, Lakewood bellhousing, poly a arm - trailing arm - shock - diff mount - end link bushings, 2" Offset trailing arms, VB 550lb front springs, VB 360lb rear spring, VB 1 1/8" front sway bar, VB 5/8" rear sway bar, VB camber rods, VB tie rods, 2 1/2" dual exhaust, 3.70 rear gears, new interior, Ecklers L-88 long hood, body half sanded, new paint bought but not yet sprayed (DuPont).
Wish list: TT-II 17x8 front - 17x9.5 rear, Hooker sidepipes
Don't get me wrong, the C5 is a great car but to me there is nothing like the feel of a C3 in your hands. Besides I'm a 0 to 90 kind-of-guy and have no interest in traveling at 170 mph

Looks like the C3 won. Sounded like it was spinning all the way down the 1/4, and got a fourth gear crossing the line. I can only dream......
