Water Pump Pulley Question
Hi guys.
I am going to replace my water pump soon. The new unit will be polished so I figured why not replace the pulley with a polished replacement also since I've have it off.
Trouble is I am having trouble locating a direct replacement. The current pulley has 3 grooves. I haven't seen a 3 groove polished replacement. Best I've been able to locate is a 2 groove one.
The weird part is on my car only one of the grooves is actually being used currently. My question is since I'm not using the other grooves anyway what 2 groove pulley can I use? I see a few options but many say they do not work with Vettes or 454s (which mine is BTW), etc.
I'll probably get the crank pulley also if they come in a set but I'm seeing the same issue. Everything is suggesting that there should be a 3 groove pulley on the crank while I have only a 2 groove one. I am able to find 2 groove crank pulleys though so this is not as much of a concern.
I've attached pics so you can see my current setup.
Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

On my '77 the water pump pulley is two piece. A two groove pulley with an additional one groove pulley on the front. Yours looks like a one groove on the back and a two groove on the front. Take it off and see what you actually have. mike...

Crank and waterpump pulleys have there own spacing on C3 Corvettes, different than on any other small block make sure you get the pulleys for a C3
