Does anyone know what kind of temp. that I should be showing on my a/c thermometer in a 74 Vette that has been competely changed over to 134a? I am only getting a reading of 58-60 degrees. If it's supposed to be lower, will adjusting the vacuum switch in the console help? Also, how do I post pictures of my cars?
Delta-Temp should be about 40 degrees. This is measured at the face of the evap (incoming air) and at the backside of the evap. (outgoing air). This need s to be checked at the evap as you will get a few degrees temp rise through the duct work. Any more than around a 10 degree change through the ducts would indicate a possible hot air bleed through. Make sure your temp cable is adjusted properly and the seal on the blend air door is good and tight.
I have a 73 with the VIR that has been converted to R134A and it seems to work as R12 did except at idle. To fix this I would need to switch to a more efficent condenser.
