Was thinking about getting Lojack installed on my Vette. Does anyone know how much it costs to install, and the monthly service charge. Also does the hidden transmitter run off of it's own battery which has to be checked every once in a while?? :flag
I've got it. It's more for peace of mind since the chances of your car being stolen are slim. But if it does get stolen, you are not powerless since the criminal will have cops tracking him down with the lojack homing device. :reddevil
I can't remember how much it was, but I'm thinking something like $500 for install and there are no monthly charges. They have excellent customer service and are a pleasure to deal with. Don't quote me on how much it was to install, I would call them.
Also, lojack isn't available in every state so you need to check on that. It would be a GREAT idea to visit your county's sheriff's office (or police force) and ask them if they have units with the lojack tracking equipment installed. Not every unit (cop car) will have it, but if only one unit has it then it would not be worth it.
I have Lojack on my 2001 convertable, 35 % discount on Massachusetts auto ins, the Mass state police have quite a few police car tracking vehicles, a friend of mine is a Mass state trooper, he says they love to go after stolen cars equipped with LOJACK , as they get the bad guys in 45 minutes or less , cant recall price but mine was a deal through AAA auto think it was 400 bucks..........works for me..... :seeya
