Default 454 carb/fuel pump advice

Looking for some advice for the motor I'm putting together,so far this is what I've got..
  1. 454 .060 over
  2. 10.4 to 1 comp
Brodix Race Rite Oval port heads
  1. Roller mech cam 241/247 646/646
  2. Torker 2 intake
  3. MSD ignition
  4. Headman headers
  5. 4spd trans with 3.36 ring and pinion
The car is mostly a street driven car with a couple trips to the track, and unfortunately driven 1000/1500 miles per year. So if it was yours....what carb and mechanical fuel pump would you go with?

Stock GM fuel pump will supply all you need with minimum hassle. I'd kind of flip between a 750 and an 850. THe 750 will give you a little more low end response, but might be a limiter on higher RPM. An 850, you give up a bit on low end and gain upper.

I'm running a 454, crate LS-7 BB, GM aluminum heads, 12.5 compression and an 850. All from the stock fuel pump. Many trips to the 7000 range and never had any fuel issues. Not staying at 7k all day, but it's never stumbled for lack of fuel.

I really like your combo- that thing is going to rip! I'd go with an 850 DP to feed that beast. Many years ago I was running a well tuned 780 vacuum Holley on my little 439 and ran a best of 12.85 with it. By swapping on the carb in my sig, and making no other changes, my ET dropped to 12.52 and I picked up a couple MPH. I've made a few changes since then, but the point is that your motor will love a well set up 850. You have to post 1/4 mile numbers when you make it to the track! Don't forget to put something sticky on out back or you'll just be putting on a smoke show.
