Default vacuumline problem

Well, I wanted to clean up the top of the motor so I moved the vacuum lines to run under the motor and up the firewall. Problem is when I ran everything back I missed something and now my wiper door won't close. I can't figure out which line it is because when I change something it seems like the lights won't open or will do something funky. It shifts fine and all that now, but I just can't figure out the wiper door.

You need to go back thru them and tag each of them one by one w/ light colored tape, and write on the tape where it goes, what accessory it's for. Take your time and do it accurately and using the tape and writing where it will stay permanent f/ future reference.

Under the engine?

Here, this doesn't cover the wiper door, just headlights, but it still might help you out. Good luck!

You may have pulled on the line that goes to the wiper solenoid or the switch at the driver's side dash pad, that's my top of the head idea. If you have a fax, I can fax you an outline of the system. Tony

I want to say thank you guys for the help. I have been looking at the prints for the lights and I,m pretty sure that its not stock. At some point one of the PO changed the vacuum line set up. I keep looking at it and the only thing that I changed and did not put back in was the line going to the pvc valve, because I replaced that with a breather filter. So I actually got the lights to come up faster and both now come up at the same time. So I hope that's an improvement. I'm going to look and see if that's it tony, if not more is welcome if others have any ideas

Sounds like you're on top of it. I saw the wiper door, and that's where my head went. I've been all over this on my '71.

Do you have any diagram on the wiper door system? I can't figure it out. It just opens up and stays open even after the car is off. Is it not able to bleed off the vacuum?

I'm looking at a diagram right now. Thee is a line that goes from the intake manifold, to a vacuum filter and shoots through the firewall. There it bridges up into two directions: one to the headlight switch, the other one to the wiper vacuum solenoid. This is the one I think you're having the issue with. (that bridge is under the driver's dash pad, close to the speedo. The wiper solenoid is supposed to be attched in back of the tach, and is a real PITA. I ran my Vette earlier, used the manual wiper over-ride and the door remained open after I shut her down.
