From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Got the number now off to buy, I had a leaking speedo cable and not sure how much I lost but enough to make smoke and leave some on the garage floor.
I cut the cable off ( going to get a new one ) and plugged the hole with cable connector cut off from the cable in the TKO and filled in where the cable was with the wrong kind of stuff that melted leaving a hole the size of the cable dripping on everything. Time for JB weld, which I should have used in the first place until the new cable comes
It would be nice if they had some kind of angle connector into the TKO as coming straight out it is too close to the exhaust pipes.

That's all I could get here, just got it ACDelco (GM) # 89021808 I guess it's OK says it's an "amber" color, don't know but it seems the stuff I put in before was dark like ordinary oil. I hope this stuff mixes OK with what I have in there, it actually could be the same thing it was so long ago I don't remember. The dealership says it's the only syncromesh they sell anyway, it is synthentic, should I go for it ?
They had something call "Friction Modified" too but I didn't go for that. Good ol Google #12345349 or (#89021808 in Canada)

Man, I put a whole quart in, hope the tranny is OK, I haven't put too many miles on it since it was out and I filled it up but it doesn't take much more than quart, I think it was leaking out of the cable for a while
I believe I've read somewhere that you are NOT supposed to put synthetic in. The trans takes a little over 3 quarts... you're probably OK as long as you didn't beat on it too hard.

Yes. The transmission and clutch work great. Having a manual now my slight lean stumble has gotten horrible. I'm going to rebuild the carb and adjust the primary APT to get some better response out of this thing.
I drove it home on Saturday night, put the interior back together on Sunday and drove it a couple times this week but it's just not feeling great yet.
Let me know how the Indy cars do. Hopefully I'll have the 78 running well by then.

I had the 4.11 and light weight rotating assembly and the tko 600 was great. Then I switched to 3.55 rear to make the first 4 gears very raceable. It made first gear too high speed and now requires some slip to really take off. I wished that I would have just done the 3.73 because I changed to more driving than track time. Sept 8th weekend is a SCCA Fernley event. I was going to burn up a set of slicks and be a driving instructor for the event

No I hardly drove it. Put one quart of the GM stuff in and it came up to just below the fill hole, I thought I ran it almost dry but maybe not, doesn't seem to have any ill affect, it shifts fine, no noise.
The only stupid thing I did was replace the clutch disc only and not the pressure plate, I never cheap out, got the flywheel resurfaced and the pressure plate looked pristine so that's why I just bought the clutch disc alone. Took it easy for 500 miles except once when a Shelby 500 wanted to show me how fast his car was, well he found out it was not that fast.
It is a Centerforce with the weights and now when I take off I get some chatter until fully engaged, and is fine running through the gears but what really pizzes me off that I didn't buy the whole clutch, now I don't know what to do ?
I'd replace the PP over have the friction surface replaced... like brakes these things develop a transfer film. Now, I'd just drive it. If it doesn't go away w/in 500 miles of install you're probably looking at taking it out and resurfacing the PP... my guess.
