Almost any aftermarket small chamber (70-72cc) aluminum head and cam will get you over 300hp. Even the cheap chiniese junk will work

JMHO but shoot higher.
If you are shooting for 300hp out of your L-82, you can almost get there with a dizzy re-curve and headers.
You can't do heads and cam and not feed them with a good port matched flowing intake. The carb can probably be adjusted to meet your needs.
Don't factory L-82's come with forged internals?
You've got a great platform to start with if it's healthy.
Good Luck.

I'm not sure, so you think maybe just some headers and a re-curve any suggestions?

Yeah,
I suggest a set of headers and re-curving your dizzy.
And I also suggest you roll up your sleeves and start doing some research on the web about headers for your car and how-to's about how to re-curve a distributor for the Gen 1 small block Chevy.
There are literally TONS of exhaust header combinations out there. I'm not a good source for a stock L-82 Vette on what headers will fit your car. My engine runs angle plug AFR heads.
Summit Racing is a great place to start looking for headers that will fit your year vette.

Additionally do a search on this forum about adding power to the l-82.
Or start a new thread on the subject.
Good Luck
