Tachometer speedometer not working ?

Tachometer speedometer not working ?

Nothing is working on the cluster or dash gages no RPM or Speedometer.

Its a 1981 I was told will need to purchase the hole unit...?
Is this true?
Plus I see they sell a circut board for the Tachometer alone will the board make the speedometer work as well ?
In other words are they conected...?

The speedometer is cable driven, while the tach is electronic. The printed circuit could effect the tach, but not the speedometer.

Possibly not, depending on what the problem might be.

No.

Has the dash been out of the car?

yes it was taken out everything was conected How ever I did not new they were seperate
