Default Which wire is + and which is -?

One is black and one is green. I am hooking up aftermarket speakers and want to get it right the first time. They ought to have a little icon of a smiley face guy electrocuting himself.

It doesn't matter with speakers as long as you hook them both up the same way so they're in phase with each other. I would hook the green to the plus and the black to the minus on both speakers. A god way to check to see if speakers are in phase is to listen to a voice recorded in stereo. The voice should sound like it's coming from an area between the two speakers if they are in phase. If they are hooked up out of phase the voice will sound directionless. Good luck.

Vettefixr is correct, but if you want to be a little more precise, often speaker leads use two different wires under the colored insulation. Generally, the + is copper and the - is silver in color.
