Default No Power

I have 2 problems I'm chasing and am wondering if they are connected. The first problem is my '75 keeps running after I remove the key - runs for maybe 3 or 4 seconds (fuel pump light stays on too). The second problem started after the ignition wire off the starter got knocked loose (bracket fell on terminal end causing it to disconnect). I redid the wire and everything worked fine for awhile (maybe 3 trips for a total of 2 hours). Then the car had no power at all - battery had power though. If I disconnected the negative wire at the battery and reconnected, the car would start about half the time.

Could these 2 problems be related?

When I disconnect the negative on the battery and reconnect, the car will either start or will click then go dead. If it starts, it won't start again after sitting.

Could this be grounding? Need help!

check the ground cable connection under the car on the frame, remove it clean it, rebolt it. you may need a new ground cable, if moving it around makes it start.
