I will have to resto mine also.
Talked to a galvano engineer - he will try to galvanize the pot to original color. Will have to solder the holes.......
Mark, rotate it a half turn. I think that the hoses go on the bottom? I have on like that but the inner seal is bad. Is it repairable or junk? Looks great! Thad
MNJack -
Your wiper door accuator looks great. Mine was white when I bought my 68! I used some stuff that Eastwood company sold a while back that simulates the yellow cadmium finish. It worked pretty good. I have seen alot of different colors for that accuator through the years at shows - but the folger paint job was a first!!! I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I would like to say hello to all of the C-3 members. Got a good laugh at your post!!! Thanks!

Re: 68 wiper accuator restoration (MNJack)
If anyone is interested there is a company in Michigan called Caledonia Classics that can do a complete restoration of the wiper door actuators (coffee can and pie plate ) and headlight actuators. They will seperate the peices and install new diaghrams after plating them, thye look brand new. I had them do my wiper door, headlight and relay valves from my 69. I too have the coffee can style

Hi Mark. You do know that your actuator is upside down??? :) Chuck
ummmmm......I do now! Thanks, Chuck (and Thad). I was going to ask which way it goes, but I found an old pic of my engine, and that's the way it was before!! So, I will flip it around.
And BTW, the actuator (and wiper door) works fine. It's the darn wipers that dont work. Also, I guess I will break down and order a rubber boot. MJ
JB, your pic is what got me going on this in the first place! :) I had some gold and silver spray paint in the basement, leftovers from past pinewood derby projects. :)
