Default A great Salvage yard!!

Can I prase a vender for a change? For years now I've been buying parts from Corvette salvage yards advertised in Hemmings and most Vette magazines. I got burned so many times with the parts being sent to me that weren't much better than those I was trying to replace. I soon became aware that these places have a stradigy. They send out their junk first. If you keep it, they are way ahead and they still have the good stuff for more discrininating costumers. If you send it back they either finally send you a half decent part to replace it or give you a refund. Still no big loss to them.
I ran into a guy at the last Chicago Vettfest by the name of Mack Massengill. He quoted me a fantastic price on something I was looking for but it was back at his establishment in Kennesaw, Georgia. The price was so good that I took a chance. I was delighted when the part came. It looked like new and about 1/4 of other quoted prices. Since then I have called and ordered 3 or 4 more times and though I expected to be disapointed as usual, I have been repetedly amased at the quality and condition of the parts I have recieved and the extremely reasonable prices. Before my first purchase from him, I had called another famious salvage yard and had asked about the part. I could actually hear them snicker as they quoted me a price that was about 4 times what a new one cost. I couldn't believe I was going to get much, but I was wrong. Since then, I have purchase an original (1980) spare tire and wheel, properly dated and the tire still had the little rubber nubbins on it. I also purchased a passengers side vanity visor, like new. A automatic gear shift assembly in great shape with brite chrome. Mack is very exact in his discription of whatever he is saleing you over the phone and everything I have bought from him is exactly as described or better. His number is (770) 591-1347.
Support him. You'll be glad you did.

Good post! :yesnod:
After getting burned over and over, ya darn near wet your pants when you get what paid for! With good ol' sales and service on the decline these days, it's good to hear one for the good guys.
Thanks for the information.
