Default Another 5 speed conversion question

I have been considering the 4 speed to 5 speed swap for several years, I had a t-5 from a v-8 camaro years ago but opted not to cut the tunnel and crossmember. At this point I am fine with it as long as it's just a little on the tunnel. My question is the kit worth the extra $1000- $1500? Summit on line said they can ship the gm tko 600 tommorrow, and its $2300. I can build a crossmember and have my driveline shortened fairly cheaply. Reading posts delivery of the kits seems to be the main issue. What are your opinions.

Do you still have the T5 ? If so why not use it ? There is a little work involved compared to a bolt in kit though. Its just a small section on the right side of tunnel for the yoke to clear that has to be removed, no biggie, then glass it back in from the inside. You have to shorten the drive shaft, fab up a rear mount, and relocate the shifter to the left a little to look stock inside the car. I have 2 world class T5's in my vettes and love them.

No I sold the T-5 to a friend several years ago. I'm running a pretty strong 406 now and don't know how long the T-5 would last. I looked around a bit on e-bay and craigs list, they seem too pricey, unless I can make a mustang one work.
