Default Can anyone recommend a flywheel

I am putting a new clutch in and need a new flywheel as well.

These are the specs as best as I know them. I bought the car and into the shop it went after a trip around the block.

A 1974 454 built to a 468
Ported and Polished
1.72 Roller Rockers
14:1 static compression
240-260 per cylinder
Unknown Cam

Original Muncie 4 Speed

I was thinking of a center force dual friction clutch. I am not going to be racing on the drag strip or track, but just want a reliable set up that I won't be replacing in a month or two.

Thanks guys.

Have you considered a GM flywheel such as 3993827

I dont have the numbers in front of me but there is a light weight GM wheel 13 lb. as I recall specifically for external balanced engines as the one you have....the counterpart was exclusively for the internal balanced L88`s

I'm guessing that 14:1 CR is a typo, no?

Those are the specs the PO gave me. I have not had it verified. I bought it and put in the shop the next day.

He said those numbers were accurate 6-7 years ago and he only put 2-3k miles on the engine.

I drove it around the block and it started dieseling when I cut it off.

I'd check with the PO again. 14:1 is well above normal for the street, even from back in the day of much better gas.
