Following on from my thread where I found I was missing the correct headlight pivot bolt and bushing, I have installed the new parts and am now wanting to adjust the headlight assemblies so they are flush with the surrounding bodywork.
I did a search and have looked at my AIM but it didnt really provide a one stop answer.
Looking to get the assemblies flush and then to adjust opening to stop a very noisy clunk on one light.
So, can anyone tell me in easy terms, the step by step procedure to get them flush and then adjust how they open/close correctly so as not causing excessive wear on parts and causing the clunk.

Jotto... If you can hang in there a few days.. I did a video on the headlamp actuators and how to test them. In this video I pointed out the adjustment points. I've been working on this one pretty hard and it should be finished soon.
I can tell you this.. but seeing may be better than reading.

Cheers Ernie! Happy to wait. Your videos are always very informative and as a picture is worth a 1000 words, a video must be worth....
Count me in! My 80 is out for paint, and my painter called me, telling me I need to come over and adjust the driver's side door so it's flush with the surround. Needless to say,he would'nt paint until this was done. So, a paintstick, tie wrap and a pair of vise grips had to do until tomorrow when i get the car back Looking forward to the vid!
Ok.. good news.. bad news sorta thing. I cut the adjustment help out of the headlamp vacuum video.. that is the bad news. The good news is this video is being uploaded for texting right now and should be online in about an hour. The other good news is that I didn't feel as if what was covered in the video was enough to help you so Kevin and I pulled the headlamp housing assembly back out today, fired up the camera and did a second video on adjustments to the headlamps...
I will try to have this up on Thursday if possible.
