76 Auto shifter adjustment
Installed new shifter and detent cables in my 76 with auto tranni. I can get the detent adjusted to where it locks up properly. The when I go to attach the shifter cable it is to long? I don't see any adjustment for the shifter or cable, HELP?!!!!

Thanks for the imput, I actually meant to say that I installed the lockout cable as well as the shifter cable. I can get the key to lock and unlock by using the ajustable plate on the firewall. I'll have to check to see if the nut on the dog that the shifter cable attaches to on the tranni will get that cable fit right. I've put so many cables and wiring harnesses on this car that I'm cross eyed!!!! I'm going to loosen up the nut as well as the bolts on the tranni pan to see if I can get it to fit properly.
