Default Nightmare!

I Have a Wiring Nightmare! For starters, my far left brakelight/turnsignal unit works sometimes, other times it doesn't work at all. Any ideas as to why? To compound this, I have NO idea why my inner two light units (the two circles closest to each other on the rear end) NEVER, EVER WORK!!!! Are these lights only supposed to work when my headlights are on, or are they supposed to work all the time? The Bubba who owned the car before me did some bullpoopie hacking up when he put in a Hurst shifter, and the guy needed to put a toggle switch in line with the reverse lights to get them to work, but now they don't work at all, and I'm totally at a loss for my Bubba-fied ride. Any help would be Greatly Appreceated. Thanks a million. :U

The inside lights, despite being red on the outer circle, are only lit when you are in reverse. They are backup lights only.

My turn signal switch sometimes would stick just in the right spot (when making a left turn and using my t/s) and my left brake light would be out..got some eletrical spray (cleaner) and sprayed it up into the t/s lever area and worked it a bit...seems to have worked..inside lights just back up lights..
