Default 1978 automaic will not shift into 3rd gear.
the car will go into frist and second with know trouble but will not shift into third, has anyone had this trouble before. 1978 350

Check the transmission throttle cable adjustment.

Check fluid level.

Check to make sure that the vacuum connection at the transmission isn't leaking.

check vacuum where it hooks to carb as well. it the one very close to distributor if you aren't sure

Spool valve in the governor may be stuck. My T400 did the same thing once. Pull the governor out and pull it apart, clean the spool valve with Emery cloth and carb cleaner, then lube/reassemble.. OR buy a new governor from a tranny shop for about $25. This is what I did.
