Default GPS controlled torque converter lockup module

Hello there,
I was long time thinking about improving lockup control, preventing engagement of lockup immediately at overdrive - low speeds-. I was some solutions of speedometer linked control but was not satisfactory for me.

And Volaaa... I and a few innovative collegues, developed a module that
1) you can set the speed for lockup
2) measures speed from GPS and controls lockup
3) unlocks when you brake (that means you don't need extra brake circuit)

Tested it long time in my '55 Belair w 200-4R and perfect No we decided to bulk manufacture the module and sell it. If you are interested here is our blog including link to ebay:

We can also try to actualise your ideas, just tell us. And if you have business model to propose, please propose, since we are in Turkey and looking ways to promote this innovation.

Have a nice week !

Seems reasonably priced and easier to install than those needing a speedo cable.

Great idea Yavuz. Seems like a good alternative for the B&M kit. I'll keep an eye on this one

im an electronics engineer (RF) and the tracking of GPS can be slow.... ie, when you go... it takes a sec or more to give speed... when you stop, same thing... but directly hooked up to the wheels, it is instant.

I'm wondering if there is, or could there be, a deadband built into it?

Deadband is a set of programed variables that prevent the "equipment" from oscillating at, or near the set-point. Google it

I've done 2 years doing mobile apps that use GPS and wonder about the urban canyon issues... as well as latency.

Ephemeris data can take a long time to get sometimes...

I'm not an engineer, but have designed a few GPS projects for personal use. As long as this is set up with some hysteresis, which I'm sure it would be, I think it would work fine. The GPS may be delayed a second or so, but that's not a long time to wait for lockup.

I would be interested to know what happens when you don't have a signal.

Cool design though bro, and good luck with the sales of it!
