Reverse lights on in Drive
Is the switch bad, or could I have connected it wrong?
Thanks,
Matt

I didn't know there was an adjustment - I made sure the switch was all the way forward, and the shifter was in Park when I put it on. I guess there is more to it.
I used the link you provided, and found the reference material by Wilcox, I will give that a shot.
Thanks,
Matt
I opened up the switch to see if I could see a problem. The switch is VERY simple, and I couldn't see how it could not function correctly.
So I figured that there was something with the wiring. I noticed that the connector with the reverse light wire (green wire) had the wires reversed from the connector in the car. So I reversed the green/pink wires in the connector on the switch, and the reverse lights started to work correctly - but the seatbelt warning light was staying on all the time. So I then reversed the pink wires in the other connector on the switch, and that fixed the seatbelt warning light.
So, I needed to reverse the wires on 2 of the connectors on the switch. My car is an 72 (dec 71 build), I don't know if there is something particular about that. I think it's more likely to have to do with the production of the switch.
So, anyone getting a new nuetral saftey switch, test it before you put everything back together, and if something is not working correctly, look at the connectors.
In case someone else has this problem, you shouldn't need to cut the wires, they can be removed, and reinserted back into the connector. I believe the green/pink wires had the small tab on the top. And the pink/pink wires had the blade connector that need to be compressed from the side.
