Default Considering new shocks...

My car has really stiff gas shocks on it right now. Like that when I got it, and I'm not sure of the age of the shocks or the mileage. I am considering some new shocks because I am never going to race, and the roads in michigan are horrible for such stiff shocks.

For basic street cruising, with the ability to take a few curves here and there, what should I expect to pay for shocks? What brands do you guys like? How long should they last?

Thanks for suggestions...

A good set of four AC Delco, Gabriel or Monroe gas-charged shocks should set you back no more than $100-130.

What year is your vette? Does it have gymkana suspension? I have the gymkana suspension with metal 9-leaf spring and swaybar (that's about the extend of gymkana influence) and am running Gabriel (gas matics I think).

checked ur stats i think u own a 82 correct? check to see if u have a steel or composite (fiberglass) rear..u can tell just by looking at it..i think 82 was the first year with composite but might be wrong it might have been 84..anyway bilistien or corvette caliberated kyb's for composite..almost anything for steel..
