I did the Borgeson conversion. It is a modern box that eliminates all the hokey PS rams and leaks etc. The road feel is great...much better than stock.
I did an article on it for Corvette Enthusiast magazine and if you seach the C-3 and C-2 Forums you'll find lots of info and pics.
If you want the stock power assisted steering, purchase a kit from the aftermarket providers, purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM) for your model year, and follow the assembly diagrams for the stock system.
Stock system is bolt up. Other than hand tools, you will need a pitman arm puller.

I have a Borgeson box on my '74 coupe and factory PS on my '74 'vert and the difference is quite noticeable. Unless you're an **** NCRS type, then ditch the factory box and fit a Borgeson. Call Jeff, Barbara or Gil at Borgeson 1-860-482-8283 or www.borgeson.com.
Products are proudly made in the USA and the complete set-up shouldn't cost more than a grand.
I'm not seeing a kit to convert from manual steering to power with a big block on the Borgeson site. Only for a small block.
I'm pretty sure that it will fit if you have a standard exhaust manifold. If headers are fitted and they clear the standard box, they should clear the Borgeson box. It's no wider than stock, just a bit "longer."

It specifically says SBC with no mention of big block like they do with the other kits. It could be that they don't have a bracket to mount the pump to a big block.
I would call them, they dont provide a new pump, you are recommended to either rebuild or buy a new one. your oe pump will work fine as far as fit. I'm sure aussiejohn is correct and the only issue is the width of the bbc
btw, very nice folks ,answer phones and give good answers

The kit is for manual to power conversion, so there is no OE pump and they do supply a new one with a bracket, but only for a small block.
