Try just pulling the t-stat first before just putting in another one. Let's trouble shoot this bad boy logically so we can eliminate any variables as we go. Run her without a stat, and let's see where we are first. Also, how does the inside of the rad look? Is it still clean, or does it need a purge?

Ya never know, there may not be anything wrong with the t-stat, we are just removing it to make sure. If you remove the t-stat, and it works like it should, you can assume a bad t-stat. If it still has the same problem, then we need to look elsewhere. Whenever I am faced with a problem that I can't figure out, and I am just trying to eliminate possible causes, I always try the easiest things first.

You can also take a t-stat, tie a piece of string to it, and submerge it in a pot of boiling water to see if it is opening or not. Water boils at 212* F., so it should open just about any t-stat that a sane person would run. Good luck!

Keep the shiny side up!

totally excellent, now with those compression numbers , you probably only have a slight ignition issue, easily fixed

no I mean find out why you have the miss, with those compression numbers , all other things being good, it shouldnt, that means an ignition issue, first would be to make sure your firing order is correct...and it goes on and on.

compare it to how your wires are hooked up, some folk reverse two of them, still runs but has a miss
