It took me forever to find a site that could host my video. I hope you all get a kick out of it.

After 15 months of working on the beast, I'm coming down the home stretch.

The 383 is in and running great. It has cast Vortec heads, Edelbrock RPM air gap, hooker headers, and Holley 4160.

I'm running a Howards cam.

All of the suspension has been rebuilt and it has a new Super T-10 4 speed.

It always feels good to hear the mill run for the first time, and I thought you might enjoy it also.

nice, but your camera doesn't do justice to just how loud those things are without mufflers

I used to build stainless steel kitchen equipment; and I had to find the hearing protection when I lit my 350 with straight pipes.

Very Nice and new looking. I am sure it sounds good, but the audio is muffed.
Have you tried to fit your hood yet?
When I had AC on mine I had that same coolant line to my compressor as you, I had to cut it shorter to shut the hood but I had to make a custom AC bracket.

I was very concerned about the A/C hose clearing after I got it. It was supposed to be a direct replacement, but the arch at the top is definitely higher than my original.

Fortunately for me, I had already gotten an L 88 style hood because of the Air Gap manifold. The L 88 hood clears that hose easily, and I have plenty of room for my Cowl induction setup.

and you sir....are Corrrecto!!.

It is loud, and very deep. My camera video and all the conversion to make it work doesn't do the sound justice.

A couple of the kids on this block have been following my build and "helping" me. After firing it up they came a running from afar since they heard it. The cam gives it a real lopping sound which I like. but it isn't so extreme that it doesn't idle nicely.

Two days after running it I have no leaks, no noisy valves.....nothing. Just a good solid motor.
