Actually I need pics of the air deflector (sometimes called the center spoiler). I am trying to figure out what kind of mounting bracket holds it up in the center. Does anyone have any clue of what I am talking about?

I have a '78 with the daytona front, I received the the air dam
without brackets and made some out of aluminum strips to mount to the
frame center protrusion, the front corners I drilled and mounted to my
daytona nose clip....the prior owner didn;t bother doing this...it makes one heck of a heat difference...then again, most of what the guy did behind the scenes was below par... :yesnod:

I won't be able to get you a picture for a while, I'm leaving in a couple minutes but if I remember correctly there are screws that go in the center and sides, no bracket hold it up. I got a new flexglass piece a couple years ago and had to fit it then mark the hole locations and drill them, easy install. For the rubber pieces there are 2 metal strips to help keep them mounted, don't forget those.

Thanks guys. When I bought my 81, there was a metal square directly above the center air deflector. I asked around, and some other owners told me that there should be a metal bracket welded on to it. :confused: Anyways, I just bought a new one with new left and right rubber spoiler pieces and I figured that I should check and see if there was some kind of mounting bracket that should be there.

you cant see much from these pics but there is a steel arm running down from the top that bolts to the center of the air dam. one bolt on each end of the arm.

I don't know how original mine is, but what I have is a medium sized (about 10 gauge)
wire with eyelets on each end. Running from the tin can that you see under the middle of the nose, through a small hole in the valance and secured onto one of the screws that holds on the rubber skirts...

It has held up pretty good so far, I have had to repair it once so far....Plus you can't see it from 5 feet away.
