I am writing because my A/C has started acting up recently. The unit works fine except that at about 1000-1800 rpms, the alternator belt vibrates and makes a crazy noise. It only happens when the A/C is running. The belts are all tight and feel like they have equal tension. The belts look like they are in top shape although the alternator and compressor are spaced almost to the end of their adjustment. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Help!! A/C Making funny noises (8T1-7T9 BIONIC VETTE)
It could be your ac comp clutch is going bad but more than likely the comp about to crap.have the pressures checked for being to high.i would rather run a little lower pressures and make the comp last longer especially if comp is older.I would check pressures, vacuum system down and add correct amount of oil and freon.Quite often people keep adding freon due to a leak and they don't realize that oil had been leaking out also which will cause comp to eventually lock up.
Mine was making a god awfull sound....Turned it off and went straight back to the A/C shopthat did the install.....They pulled the filter and it was dirty...cleaned out filter and the system worked good ever since....Nasty grinding noise...Does yours sound like this?..... :seeya Cappy
