72 a/c
Can a anyone tell me how much freon and oil goes in a 72 vette a/c. I replaced hoses, dryer, poa and expansion valve.

completely empty, bout 2 lbs, you need to use gauges, over filling isnt good , you will also need oil

Take it to any automotive AC shop and let them do their thing. They do this for a living. Eliminates all guesswork on your part.

I changed the o rings in connections but does 134a damage the compressor?

Corvette system capacities are:
3 lbs 4 oz R12
11 oz 525 Viscosity compressor oil
BUT;
If you didn't replace/remove and drain the compressor oil you likely have no idea how much oil is still in the system.

they sell kits to completely flush your system, might be an idea

no, but you need to do the flush, and 134 has different fill rates, and different oil
if you switch to 134 you will need barrier hoses

You'll need 10oz of oil if the system is empty. I would ask over here. There's tons of posts on converting.

If you're converting from R12 to R134, you might want to think about adjusting your POA valve. These guys can do it or sell you a rebuilt one that's calibrated correctly for R134.
