Default Remote Transmission Oil Filter

Has anybody installed a tranny oil filter, and where. I'm catching the blues finding a good location for it to sit upright...being cautious cause the car sits so low. I need some tips.

How about posting a picture or link to what you are working with, might get a better response.

I used a similiar tranny filter for years back in the late 70's to 1990 on a Nova SS with a turbo 350 and highly recommend it. It was great for filtering the transmission fluid using an oil filter. I NEVER had any particles in the pan when I changed the filter and fluid in the pan.Changed the remote filter every 5,000 miles. Drove the heck out of the tranny and sold the car in 1990 with 168,000 miles still shifting perfectly. I mounted the remote filter in the grille of the Nova and woud do the same on the C3-somewhere in the nose. I would cut the the in and out lines going into the radiator and would run the biggest double stack tranny cooler you can in the nose in front of the radiator/condenser , not using the radiaitor for cooling at all and either before or after the fluid enters the cooler, route the lines to the remote filter. This setup is what I did for about 12 years. Worked great. An automatic will last a long time IF you keep the fluid cool and clean.

I currently run 2 Long 18,000 GVW coolers in the nose of my 2001 pontaic grand Prix FWD 4T65E transmission outside of the radiator and that tranny is not very durable. Shifts perfectly with a Transgo shift kit in it.

Run 1 24,000 GVW Long double stack Cooler in the grille of my 94 Mustang GT Convertible outside of the radiator as well with a transgo shift kit. The Ford AODE is crap as well but is all good now. That tranny runs really hot going through the radiator for cooling from the factory. I am think of a remote filter for the mustang since this tranny is not know for durability.

Hope that helps.

IMHO, a cooler is more important that an extra filter.
I put a Motorcraft heavy duty trans cooler on my Crown Vic, in series with the stock cooler, when it was new. Knock on wood, 239,000 miles later, I have never had a trans problem with that car. (The factory manual recommended a 21,000 mile change interval for the trans fluid, which is telling you something).
