Just finished replacing key switch in column. Went to screw Hazard **** into place and there was nothing there where did the switch go. Is it part of the turn signal switch assy. Hate to put everythng back together and then have to take it apart again. Any hep would be appreciated.
Jim Shea's papers should point you in the right direction. I had to pull my steering column 2 nights ago to fix my ignition switch, and I would have been all at sea without them.
Cheers!
Google will reveal what you need. Could it be that the ignition barrell is at the limit of it's travel due to the ignition switch at the firewall end of the column needing adjusting back towards the steering wheel? That's what ny 74 was doing.
First of all, I assume that you have a T&T steering column and your Vette must a 1969 thru 1976 to be asking this exact question.
There is a thin metal lever (3.90 inches long) that presses into the underside of the turn signal switch. It looks like this.
It extends down from the switch to a ledge inside the turn signal switch housing. The 6-32 threaded hole in the lever will exactly match the hole in the side of the turn signal housing so you can attach the hazard ****.
It is very easy to forget the lever. It may be just laying inside your turn signal switch housing.
