Today I set teh float on my Holley. The front bowl went fine; not and problems. I took the rear float sight plug out and fuel was spilling EVERYWHERE. It's only suposed to kinda trickle out. So, I lowered the float with the plug in. When I started to pull the plug out no fuel was comming out so, I took the plug out and set it aside and started to raise the float. And I raised and raised it and no fuel started to come out. poopie, so I give it some gas and manually move the secondary vacuum opener rod and the motor reved up even more and no fuel came out. So, I'm clueless here. This is my 1st Holley and I'm out of ideas. What's the problem(s)
with the engine off remove the lock screw and the adjustment nut because you have screwed the needle ans seat assy. down too far and the adjustment nut is no longer turning the N/S assy. if you remove the gasket from the float bowl the N/S assy. will stick up far enought to get the adjustment nut to lock on and turn the N/S assy. :chevy
No you don't have to take the bowl off. Just remove the adjuster stop screw and then the nut. The needle valve will be almost flush with the top of the bowl if it's adjusted too low. You have to turn it out with your fingers or you can remove the gasket from the nut so it can engage the top of the needle valve. Once you turn it out about half way, then re-assemble the washer, nut and stop screw. Now you can start the engine and set the float level like you did the front.
Fixed it. I did what ya'll said. The N/S was flush with the bowl, or almost. There was enough out for me to grab and turn it out. But I backed it out too far the 1st time and shot fuel out of the vent. Setting the float aslo fixed my 1-1600 bogging.
