Nice detent shifter for an '81 automatic?
I've been searching for a thread that I saw a few weeks back. Someone had put a B&M shifter (don't know which one) in the factory 80-82 automatic console. I don't remember if he had an OD or TH350. But he had some nice pictures and it looked like a factory install. I just replaced my TH350 and need a decent aftermarket detent shifter. The factory shifter is worn out. I'd like to do a factory looking install in the console. If anybody has that link or any related information please post.
Is that the early model Camaro console model or the universal model?
I see that the shift indicator is now on the left of the shifter. Is that in the kit or something that you made up?
Thanks for posting. Love your website!

It's a console model for a 80 Camero/Firebird.
The indicator was on the other side, but when I made the new console cover plate I just moved it over to the driver side. Easier to see for sure. If you zoom in, you can see the reverse valvebody shift pattern. The plate I made out of .100 thick aluminum, and it's screwed to the original console cover, painted semi gloss black. Matches the stock trim almost perfectly.
