Houston mechanics
I need a mechanic in the Houston area to do a carb tune and recurve the distributor. Does anyone have someone they have good experience with, trust, and willing too recommend? All my contacts are in Dallas, and the last time I needEd work I got burned by pep boys.
77 automatic.
I an on the west side, but willing too drive if I know ill get quality work.

If you want to drive up to Bryan/College Station next week, I can time it and make sure your timing is all in by 3k. When I tune a carb, I just turn the idle mixture screws to get the highest vac.. do you have fresh plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor cap?

I like CS, and with the weather that would probably make for a nice Saturday drive. that would put a test to my car though, and mentally be the longest trip ever. The car runs strong, but I a have not driven it that far in 8 years. The wires are new, the plugs were clean last I looked, but not sure of their age. I am not sure about the age of the distributor, but I think it was replaced a few years ago when my dad had for a bit when I was in college. He started to have a guy do some work on it.
