I'm in the process of wiring my car from scratch. I have installed the factory replacement wiring harness's from Lectric Limited. I am using the MSD 6AL ignition control and have a question regarding the original ignition wires (white with red & black markings & yellow). These originally went to the + side of the coil. The MSD diagram has this wire(s) going to the ignition control unit (6AL) and then from the 6AL a wire (orange) goes to the + side of the coil. I now the original yellow wire goes to the starter solenoid. I'm wondering if I need to seperate it from the white with red & black wire and still wire it to the + side of the coil. Feedback please.

The wires from the MSD (orange and black) are the only ones that go to the coil.

Default U won't need that yellow wire with the MSD 6AL.

That yellow wire kicked in full batt voltage to the coil when the starter is engaged. The MSD control box will take care of coil voltage now. Just cut one end of the yellow wire and fold it back then tape it with electrical tape and forget about it.

BTW which year C3 are u talking about? U have 73, 74 and 69 C3s in your profile. They all had a little difference in wiring.

I'm putting together the black 69 you see in my avatar. Can I leave the (2) original ignition wires together & run the small red MSD wire to them or do I need to isolate the yellow wire from the MSD?
