Hey Everybody: OK .... I Need some info here. Hopefully someone can help me out on this one. I need to know how much travel the windshield wiper door rod coming out of the actuator is. How much travel is needed to push & pull the door open & close.
Also, how much force is needed in order to open & close the wiper door.
this is pertaining to the 1972.
Any help out there would be mucho appreciated.
I need to know exactly. I'm expermenting with a different way to open & close the door & need this info.
Thanks Everybody for a Great Forum

The stance of CDG's car down like in the picture above is BA!!! Get him to post some engine compartment and custom interior pictures... What a beauty!!!
Why not just remove the actuator, push the rod in and out and measure?
Well, I no longer have the Actuator. BUT, I did a good measurement of the rod connected to the wiper door assembly. I got 2 1/4" travel. NOW, all I need is the amount of force to push the door open & then pull it close. I'm guessing it's somewhere around 35 Lbs of Force.

Rogman
Hey, Rogman:
Yep, it was a Great Summer with the Vette.
Took the Vette to 'Goodguys' in Columbus. That was in July.
Went to 'Corvette's on Woodward' during the Woodward Dream Cruise in August. Well over 500 Corvettes 'crammed' into that Motel Parking Lot.
Also went to the NSRA Nationals North in Kalamazoo, Mi in September.
Did a lot of Local Shows & Cruises. Vette's getting a lot of Recognition.
I'll post some more pics of the Car Soon. Look for that in another thread.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Can't help but is that car bagged, if not how bout them speed bumps, let alone any other thing that isn't flat
Just to let you know I had mine pretty low at one time, not as low as that and on ordinary street it would scrape if there was a dip in road. Looks cool, got old real fast, Now if you can raise and lower it even just the front end it would solve most of the problems
