I am installing the TV Made EZ kit from Bowtie Overdrives on to my Holley 4160 carb. If anybody has this system, where does the throttle return spring connect? BTO does not specify and their bracket does not have a provision to connect a standard length spring.
So, as you can see in the pic, I have a third party throttle bracket installed for the spring. The second issue is now my drop base air cleaner will not fit. How did you connect your throttle cable and and return spring with the BTO TV kit?
post #4 seems to have his springs running to the front of the engine from the big linkage hole. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...YlleT5AaVlMGww
you could also make an upright bracket from one of the manifold bolts
I have the same BTO kits and bought one of those chrome brackets (spectre I think) and bolted it to the manifold in front of the bracket.
As far as the breather clearance issue. Which part is hitting? I have a Q-Jet and a L-88 base on mine so I may not be able to help you but I did end up having to grind a little off the top of the throttle bracket and I have a 1/2 spacer between the carb and base. But, with the L88 hood I have a bunch of clearance.
Here is what I ended up with. Thank you all for the ideas, I was stuck in my head but think this is a decent solution.
I had a couple of these little metal brackets that probably came with a ceiling fan or something about 15 years ago. I cut and drilled it out. Then made another piece to attach the spring to on the linkage.
yeah... its adjustable.
Should be good enough for functionality.
