I recently put a new printed circuit on the gauge cluster which brought all of them back to life except the temperature gauge which I am not sure how to rerun.
But my most pressing issue is that I also replaced the printed circuit on the speedo. I hooked them both back up before reinstalling the whole dash and I have no response from either the Rev counter, speedo, or any of the lights.
I don't know what the first step I should take is. Also does anyone have a link to a diagram showing which bulbs go where so I can make sure I have the amperage in the right place?
I did hook up the drive cable an it seemed very snug. I'm just baffled why nothing responds at all. I hate to replace the whole drive cable if I don't need too
If you put a printed circuit on the speedo tach housing, safe bet the car is 1978-1982... With this in mind and if you have cruise control.. pull the cable loose from the transducer and attach a drill to it... see if the speedo works. If it does then you either have an issue with the transducer, the lower cable or the drive gear in the tranny.
If it fails you have a cable issue between the speedo and transducer.
On the tach.... there is a ton of info on your tach on my site. If you post the year i'll guide you to that info.
I should have included that in the original post, but yes you are correct it is a 78.
I have not tried the drill test yet, hopefully that will come tomorrow and I can start getting it all back together.
I also discovered earlier when testing more electrical that I have a headlight issue now as well. I'll start a new thread for that one.
