I've done mine with the black epoxy from Eastwood. Send the blonde my way, all the women here like those idiots with the baggy pants 10 sizes too big that are always falling down driving rice mobiles with 747 wings, or they are looking for a sugar daddy driving an 80K car

I went over mine with Eastwood's Corroless, and then I hit it with Krylon Satin Black. I started with some Rustoleum black, but the spray can just didn't work that well. The Krylon had a nice fan spray and dried a lot faster. As for durability, who's to say?

The big girls seem to like me. And I'm okay with this. Just the same, I'm as married as the day is long. So even if Charlize Theron wanted a piece of me (keep dreaming, right?), there's not a lot I could do. Maybe I could convince the wife to give me a Mulligan, you know, just one two-hour yard pass for Charlize... ;)

there is a product we used in the navy that I am going to try to find. basically, it goes on white, converts rust and seals it so it won't progress. whe it's cured it turns black. I'm gonna find out what the stuff is and hit my frame with it.

POR-15 on the frame and black Rustoleum on the inside of the frame, used a $10 dollar garden sprayer and stuck the wand into all the little holes in the frame and sprayed paint in it until it dripped out

I did mine for the 81' with a product I got from my auto parts store when I had the body off and it all torn down. I don't remember what it was. I used a sprayer to get the inside as well. I think I got most of it.

When I painted my frame I wanted to match the original color. I bought a gallon of black Centari acrylic enamel and mixed flattening agent until I had the correct match!

I haven't painted my frame so far - but I'm planning to paint it. However - it's difficult without having a car lift!!

Could it be Ospho (not sure on the spelling). I did my frame with it and then spray painted with Rustoleum. This was seven years ago and it still looks fresh....course it hasn't seen the road yet except from the back of a trailer. ;)

I checked this with a friend of mine who is an NCRS judge. One good alternative is Krylon semi-flat. It is a perfect match to original.

Yea, people tend to give Rustoleum grief as it is not an epoxy paint, but it wears like iron and they sell a primer that bonds to rusted metal. I painted my frame and numerous parts with Rustoleum paints and primer and it is truly a tough finish. Plus, with their primer, if you get a scratch the zinc on the primer will help to keep the rust from spreading.

Wow, I guess i should do this to mine, seems like an easy project. So you just get under the car and start spraying the frame? Any problems with getting paint where you don't want it?

I sprayed mine for the first time with Rustoleum semigloss black. Looks a bunch better that grease and is relatively cheap. I drive 20,000 miles a year half of which is on cow patty covered back roads,so concores restoration is not an option for me. I'd rather drive the wheels off it than have a trailer queen.

1) Cleaned with wire brush and Simply Green
2) Washed with water
3) Rustoleum rusty metal primer spray paint
4) Rustoleum Satin Black spray paint

Looks great and easy to apply. It's not as tough as POR-15 or others but it was a lot cheaper and still looks good after 2 years.
