I know these have been discussed on here before, but has anyone actually installed one of the March serpentine conversion kits on a small-block Chevy? I'm just wondering how things turned out, whether everything fit in the C3 engine compartment, etc.
I know they're expensive, but then, so is everything else about our project. But they look really cool.
I ran into problems with the power steering bracket hitting the cross member. It wold not fit. March took the entire system back with no problems. If you do not have P.S. ther would be no problem. It is a real nice system though, with high quality parts. March might have corrected this problem, because it has been two years since I had difficulty. Street and Performance in Mena Arkansas make a similar system to Marches, but the P.S. bracket is different. You will also have to install a new A/C compressor and lines and a different P.S. pumb and P.S. hoses. I tlooks nice but it is pricey, and it sure beats all of the belts on the original set up. The serpentine belt system requires a new and different P.S. pump with a remote reservoir. It will require the installation and fittting of new P.S. lines. My advice would be to call March and ask them about the bracket for the P.S. pump. Ask them if it will clear the crossmember on a Corvette. It did not fit on my 78. Roger
