I've got a problem with my driver side window...it's stuck. The passenger side window works fine, but the driver side doesn't move...however, when I touch the button, the battery indicator goes down and the interior light dims, so there is power getting to the window...it just won't move...also it has happened before and corrected itself...but not this time.
Re: Auto Window - Driver-side not working (78RedShark)
hey stranger....sounds like a ground fault when you mention the lights dimming...half the electrical problems are groung related seems like...
Re: Auto Window - Driver-side not working (1bad69)
my interior lights always dim a little when i operate the windows...
my pass side started to work "when it wanted to", "correcting itself" occationaly and it dosnt work anymore at all now...
i think the "correcting itself" was just a sign of dying a slow death...

Re: Auto Window - Driver-side not working (78RedShark)
Take the interior door panel off, remove the contacts to the motor and sand them lightly with emery paper, WE40 both male and female, then wipe off and try it. It worked for me when I had the same problem. I don't think this would be your switch because you are getting juice at least that far.

Ditto FontKing's remark. Last time I was in the doors of my '81, mucking around with the power locks and power windows, I could not BELIEVE the corrosion I found on the connectors. It was amazing that they even tried to work!
While you're in there, be sure to spray some WD-40 into the power-lock actuator, where the shaft goes into the power unit. Work it a few times and then spray some more. Incredible how much better the power-locks work after that treatment.
