Just realized I don't know brand, I did most of the initial prep work and was going to paint it myself with PPG basecoat/clear. The guy used five coats of base and nine clear.. it came out great, going to get it buffed out in a couple of weeks to top it off...
I'm short (5'8") and trying to see over that thing intimidated me. Anyway the guy I bought the car from gave me a brand new hood and It only needed paint....

That's a good reason, I bet it's great to have a presentable car now!
Very nice color. :cool: I'm having the same problem with the hood on my car, it's right in my line of sight. Unfortunately that's one of the things that will have to come later. I tried a 76 hood and it didn't fit at all.
Too much clear is NOT a good thing. Your painter should have applied exactly what the directions call for. Too much clear will result in cracking...down the road.
